Cyclone Michaung

Love and Compassion Trust, a charitable organisation is a registered Indian NGO body, that has been focusing on providing education for young buds whose families couldn't pay for them. The charity has also been long helping affected communities duties natural catastrophes. Some projects to name include the deadly 2004 Tsunami and the disastrous 2016 Vardha Cyclone, etc.

The Founder and Executives of the organisation have been serving with a passion and motto for the betterment of lives of the downtrodden and the unfortunate for more than 25+ years.

The charity aims to bring such projects to your attention so that you could also walk along them and get to know the real challenges that life puts human beings through, and watch them get out of it through our love and kindness. And that is something very beautiful and joyful of a picture though the paths tread behind are tough and bitter.

This time it was Cyclone Michaung during December 2023. "Heavy rain and strong winds battered the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Persistent rains caused widespread flooding and inundation in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu." say writers on Wikipedia. Several people were killed and several tens of thousands were evacuated and were sheltered in temporary camps.

Around 50K+ people were affected by the cyclone in Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur districts. Since many were rescued out of their homes which became logged with water roundabout, they suffered without basic necessities such as food, clothes, blankets, sweaters & medicine.

We planned this project back in January with a vigorous passion to bring back the normal days for them. Many have lost their houses, households, bicycles and motorcycles. Though families who are financially stable were able to recover well, we have recently came to know that rural families have not recovered yet.

Families in villages affected by Cyclone Michaung are in need to renovate their hut houses, build new hut houses and sorts of clothing, blankets and any household items will be of a great help to them.

We have planned to reach out to such families and help them rebuild their houses and provide with essentials. We are also working a self sustaining income generation project for such rural communities.

As we don't want to be ambitious about asking and expecting support from you, the proposed project is around $85,000 USD. Any sort of help would be of a great help to those families. You will be notified with photographs of people being benefitted through your kindness.

We welcome you to the community of Love and Compassion Trust which serves to prosper the lives of the unfortunate.
