2015 South Indian Flood

During the months of November & December in 2015, South Indian states Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh received above-normal monsoonal rains. The states were warned earlier by the meteorological department of the country but failed to take necessary measures for the safety of its people. The monsoon started around 13th of November and continued to pour throughout and into the month of December. Cities, suburbs and villages irrespective of its readiness and agility were all flooded and people were struck inside their homes without electricity and common facilities. Many hundreds were reported dead but some sources allegedly say that thousands could’ve lost their lives.

Besides people who could wait for help or take care of themselves, there were thousands of people living in tents and by roadsides who were usually ignored help. We had the privilege of joining hands with our team and were able to reach out to such people with food, clothing, and with other basic aid.
